The Executive Terry Parr has over 35 years business experience covering such diverse backgrounds as heavy construction, contract food service and career counselling. For the past 10 years, Terry has owned and operated a sign and printing business in White Rock. A resident of South Surrey since 1975, Terry is proud to serve as a Director of the White Rock & South Surrey Chamber of Commerce and looks forward to making it an even greater force in our business community.
Rita Walters is Director of Marketing and Sales for the Peace Arch News, a role which takes her to the heart of the business community. As a long-time Director, as well as Vice President for the Chamber, her leadership skills have earned her positions on numerous committees and boards. Among them, she’s been chair of the Business Excellence Awards, served on the gala committees for Peace Arch Hospital, and Peace Arch Community Services, the Chamber golf tourney and community policing. Rita resides in South Surrey with husband Bob, and anticipates another successful year as Vice-President representing the business community.

Janet was born and raised in Moncton, New Brunswick and attended the University of New Brunswick, majoring in English and Political Science. After university, she worked in the hospitality industry in Banff, Alberta and was fortunate to be working there during the ‘88 Olympics. While traveling on business, she fell in love with Vancouver and moved there in 1990, starting her own marketing consulting business. She has spent the last 16 years working with many clients toward their success in business, and has recently launched Brainstorm Consulting Group based out of White Rock and Richmond.

Lorna has over 25 years in senior management within the international airline industry having held Director positions in human resources, inflight /customer service and integral operational areas. Lorna has been an active volunteer with many organizations in our Community for over 15 years including Semiahmoo Minor Hockey, WRSS Baseball Association and the Semiahmoo Alumnae Association. Lorna raised her two children in White Rock and was very active in their school activities. She was a director and member of the executive with the board of the Semiahmoo Music Society for over 9 years. Lorna is co-chair of the Chamber’s Business Excellence Award committee and the Chamber’s 2008 golf tournament. She is the Chamber’s 2010 Spirit of BC liaison with the City of White Rock and sits on the Chamber’s Tourism committee. Lorna also co-chairs the Chamber’s Events and Special Projects committee. Away from the Chamber, she is the treasurer of the Festival of Wind, Waves and Water Regatta committee. Lorna is the owner of CWB Legal Administrative Services and works as a free-lance Legal Assistant.
Dan Higgins - PAST PRESIDENT Dan Higgins has over 30 years experience in retail management and is currently the Franchise Dealer of Canadian Tire Associate Store South Pointe Exchange Mall in Surrey. He has developed many Retail and Human Resource management programs while working for the Canadian Tire Dealer’s Association, is President-Elect of the Peace Arch Rotary Club, and has been involved on many Boards and Committees in several communities. Having lived on the peninsula for the past seven years, Dan’s love for this beautiful area has been proven by his involvement in most of the peninsula’s fundraising and community events. Dan looks forward to his third term as President of the White Rock & South Surrey Chamber of Commerce, continuing to fulfill the aggressive targets he set when he first took office in January 2005.
Board of Directors Maureen Annable - DIRECTOR

Maureen has been a director for over 8 years and has held positions on various committees and boards such as Chamber secretary, Excellence Awards committee, golf committee, Mayfair and is presently membership chair. She enjoys her job with the financial firm Wellington West. Maureen is the proud recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal and has volunteered for such organizations as the Peace Arch Hospital Gala, Spirit of the Sea Festival, Peace Arch Community Services and has been a judge for the Youth Ambassadors pageant. Maureen resides in South Surrey with her husband Cliff.
Paul Clarke - DIRECTOR 
Paul Clarke is the owner and manager of MPB Construction, White Rock and South Surrey's leading renovator since 1989. MPB employees 15 staff at it's Sunnyside Mall location and completes turn-key renovations from concept to design to reality for residential and commercial customers. MPB has been a finalist for the Chamber's Business Excellence awards in 2005 and 2006. Paul holds an Honors degree in Business Administration and a MBA. He has over 35 years corporate and entrepreneurial experience in Canada and the U.S. Paul and his wife Ellie are pleased to call White Rock their home and be part of this great community. Their son Jeff is completing his PHD studies at SFU and their daughter Leigh has recently joined MPB in a sales and design capacity. Paul has served on several Boards of Directors and looks forward to helping plan the future strategies and efforts of the Chamber.

Catherine Ferguson - DIRECTOR
Catherine Ferguson is a Councillor for the City of White Rock. As a former business owner and general contractor, she is actively involved in community issues and is currently chair of the White Rock Economic Committee and Legacies and Games Committee, as well as the Business Improvement Association (BIA). In addition, Catherine is a Director of the White Rock Rotary Club and South Surrey White Rock Community Policing Committee. Formerly a Director of MADD, she is now a Victim Advocate for the organization. Catherine has been a judge for the White Rock Youth Ambassador program for the past two years and was recently named 2005 volunteer of the year. Catherine has lived in the community for over a decade and enjoys gardening, volunteering for Kent Street Activity Centre and spending time with friends and family.
Stephen Lott - DIRECTOR 
Stephen moved to Canada from England in June 2004 and started his business, Computer Trouble Shooters, three months later, doing small residential jobs and expanding into the business market. In late 2005 he expanded into Surrey, and 2007 expanded the business into Langley. Computer Trouble Shooters now serves some 50 businesses in the local area, with 3 in Vancouver plus they hold the contract for Starbucks in the Fraser Valley. In three years Computer Trouble Shooters has gone from a home based business to a medium sized office based business and have brought on partners to help the business expand. |
Wayne Sorci - DIRECTOR Wayne Sorci, is married and the father of 5 children, and 5 grandchildren (to date). In his spare time he served as a sports trainer in both Junior “A” Hockey and Senior Mens’ Softball for 31 years while working full-time in the automotive industry.
Wayne is an entrepreneur, whose expertise is in the recycling field. He is president and manager of Nu-Plastic Services, based in South Surrey, B.C. The Company transports used oil containers throughout the entire province of B.C. to the recycling plant on Annacis Island. In 1997 Wayne was proud to have been the innovator to build the first machine to recycle fluorescent tubes in Canada; it separates phosphor powder from aluminum and mercury. Wayne is looking forward to meeting other business members in his community and serving his community in the capacity of a Director in the White Rock / South Surrey Chamber of Commerce.

Caroll has been involved in retail sales with the photographic industry for over 25 years and is currently the assistant store manager of Foto Source, a photo specialty store and minilab in White Rock. Her store was recently awarded the Peoples Choice Award by the readers of one of the local newspapers, for the best retail photographic store in the area.Caroll is a member of the Marketing Committee for Foto Source Canada, based in Oakville Ontario, and is actively involved in the promotion and marketing programs for the over 180 independent retail photo stores across Canada that are part of this group. She has twice held the position of Secretary for Photo Marketing Association International (BC Division) and is currently the Territorial Vice President (T.V.P.) for the B.C. Division. In February 2006, Caroll was selected as the International Territorial Vice President of the Year from PMAI. As T.V.P. she introduced the concept of mini-breakfast educational sessions to the BC Division, as well as adding fun elements, games within a game, to the PMAI of BC’s annual golf tournament. Caroll has been married for 40 years and has 3 grown children, all born in White Rock. She was actively involved with her children’s school activities and in particular those programs involving the music departments. She was part of Semiahmoo Senior Secondary’s Music Society for over 10 years and held the position of President for 2 years. Caroll is presently a Director with the Arts Council of White Rock.
Sonya Sangha - DIRECTOR Sonya Sangha has worked in the hospitality industry for almost 10 years and is currently the Front Office Manager at the Ocean Promenade Hotel in White Rock. Sonya graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Carleton University in Ottawa, and has recently completed her Graduate Diploma in Business Administration at the Segal Graduate School of Business. Sonya is looking forward to completing her MBA in the near future. As a new director, Sonya looks foward to learning more about the White Rock & South Surrey Chamber of Commerce as well as working close with, and getting to know the members in the beautiful City of White Rock!
